Each year some prospective candidates for scholarships are eliminated because the Guidance Offices in various schools and colleges did not read through the instructions before passing on the applications.
PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING
1. The application itself cannot exceed SIX pages and it must be printed in ink or typed.
2. The academic transcript is separate from the original six pages, but it must be included in the actual application. Copies of the academic transcript are acceptable. Please note that course schedules are not considered transcripts.
3. The first page must contain the applicant's name, address where he/she lives, telephone number, email address (if applicable), the name of the school the student is presently attending and the name of the institution the student hopes to attend for the fall semester, 2011.
4. A question must be answered and be part of the application and it is permissible on the first page. There have been changes in the government of Egypt. What are the changes? Why did it happen? If you were living in Egypt today what would you tell people your age to do in a democracy? This should be well thought out and well written to catch the interest of the committee members that review the application.
5. The financial statements must be completed. Those statements and all recommendations from teachers, employers, neighbors, etc. must be part of the original six pages.
6. SINGLE SHEETS OF PAPER ONLY! NO STAPLES! (INCLUDING NO STAPLES ON THE ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT).
If the application submitted by one of your students is incomplete or unsatisfactory, the student will not be notified until after the May 15, 2011 deadline. I emphasize that the course schedule must not be submitted as the student's academic transcript; the committee will not accept them because they do not represent the official academic transcript and could jeopardize their decision.
Deadline: May 15, 2011
Scholarship applications can be mailed, emailed or faxed to 716-992-3435, they must be signed to be accepted.
